GM Headpipe Kits

Our
Headpipe Kits come with Performance Collector Reducers. These have a long
gentle taper from 3½"
to
3", 3½"
to 2.5" or 3" to 2½".
It is very important at the very beginning of the system to have a long gentle
taper instead of the abrupt change that is found on all competitor reducers.
This allows for good, unrestricted flow which reduces temperatures under the
hood and at the collector gasket area for better longevity of the gaskets.
Virtually eliminates gasket blow out.

All GM Headpipe Kits come with Headpipes, any size Collector Reducers, Kit A Balance Tube and all mounting hardware.
This includes muffler mounting hardware. The 3½" Kit comes with 3½" x 3½" No-Weld Collector Reducers only & 3" Kit A Balance Tube. The 2½" and
3" GM Kits are available with the HL Headpipes (10" longer & $12 additional) or the "Split" Headpipes. No-Weld Collectors or Slip-on Reducers may be
substituted.
NOTE: The G-Body Headpipe Kit will set you up with mufflers being parallel to the center of the vehicle. IF you think you might want to install our tailpipes sometime in the future, we suggest you get the 10º Adapters so the muffler can be mounted at the correct angle for tailpipe installation later. See photos on G-Body Systems.
NOTE: - - If you know that one or both of the headers are inward more than is typical, but still parallel to the center of the vehicle, then you will want to substitute our "SPLIT" Headpipe(s). Available in 3" and 2½". This allows you to keep the Headpipe(s) from crossing under or into the drive shaft.
NOTE: - - If you know that one or both headers are not pointing straight back, then you may want to substitute one or both of the reducers with the No-Weld Reducer(s).
NOTE "X" Pipe Setups: - - If you are wanting an "X" setup in from the mufflers forward to headers, then you will want to go to the "X" crossover page.
Muffler Turn Downs
Helps deflect exhaust downward away from the rear end area. Safer and some quieter in the
vehicle. Muffler Turn Downs are Mandrel Bent and aluminized. Not available in 2.5".

GM "SPLIT" Headpipes
These Headpipes are like the regular units we sell, EXCEPT we have made them a
two-piece unit. By doing this, they can be used in situations where a header is tucked up
closer than usual to the center of the vehicle. This way, you can "cut-to-length." They can also be used to help straighten out the headpipe IF it is
"angling" away from where it should be going because of header "angling" incorrectly.
One 2-piece "Split" Headpipe includes the two pieces along with a U-Bolt Clamp to clamp together.

Y-PIPES (Cat-Back Applications)
GM G-Body Vehicles (1978-88)
Attaches to stock Catalytic Converters with the standard 4-Bolt mounting flange and
goes to mufflers. Comes with clamps for mufflers and muffler hangers. Please specify if vehicle is El Camino/Caballero as muffler hangers are different. The El Camino and
El Caballero will need an 8" Extension Kit since they have a longer wheelbase.
